Hi there, Sean Lee is here. This is my first digital camera review on my personal sites. OK, we’re going to review the Entry Level DSLR Camera, Canon EOS 500D. I write this review because my little brother just bought it with a special price on FastDigitalCamera.com, he was lucky for buy it only half price. I think it quite tricky to determine who is this camera are aimed at, and Canon EOS 500D is one the most difficult to describe. It has a similar body to the Canon EOS 450D, which until the introduction of the Canon EOS 100D, the last Canon’s entry-level model.

Being just a couple of milimeters bigger in just one dimension than the Canon EOS 1000D, which is the smallest and lightest EOS Canon model, the EOS 500D is a very small and neat DSLR. It deep fingerhold and grippy coating make it comfortable to hold even when you put a huge lenses like the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. During one phase of this test, i walked with the camera predominantly in my hand about six hours and had no complaints about aching fingers or tired wrist.

Canon doesn’t shy away from giving it’s entry  level cameras shortcut button and the Canon EOS 500D has the usual smattering, providing special access to features like the drive, white balance, autofocus and Picture Style modes.

Once the features i use most frequently like live view function settings, custom white balance, auto lightning optimizer, mirror lock up and highlight tone priority are assigned to the My Menu screen, and i have to set the menu to open at this point, I find it very rarely need to call up the Canon EOS 500D main menu.

Overall, I am impressed with all the features of the Canon EOS 500D, it just super fantastic for a entry level photographer. Similarly, the four navigation and shortcut buttons seems a bit shallow at first and until you familiar with them, they will take some time to find when you’re not looking at them. And finally i try to took a little picture at the beach with Canon EOS 500D, and here is the result, a cute baby turtle.
